NMEA Smart Sensors

Airmar's Smart^TM Sensors have embedded micro-electronics in the transducer element so the signal processor and transducer element are only millimeters apart. The signal from the depth transducer is processed right inside the sensor and fed directly to any display with an NMEA port. In conventional navigation systems, a depth transducer sends its signal to a dedicated instrument which interprets the data for its display screen. Smart^TM Sensors can make a chart plotter or radar screen do "double duty" by conveniently displaying depth and water temperature information on the plotter or radar display.

Note! Please check with the Radar / Plotter manufacturer that the equipment can accept the data format and display correctly.
