Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2009 01 July 2009

The 2009 SCIBS was always going to be a good gauge to see how the Australian pleasure boating industry was riding out the global financial crisis. Talking of storms the show also brought on some of the worst weather to unleash its self on the SE Qld coast. This resulted in the first day being cancelled shortening an already short show to just three days. For the exhibitors there's always customers and fellow industry people to catch up with and for the public there is a lot to get through so with only three days available and less than average weather to compete with it was........game on!

As always the Furuno stand was very popular with a full range of Furuno's latest products on display. NavNet 3D had many seasoned show goers' jaws dropping when the Furuno crew showed off the latest in 3D navigation. The seamless chart redrawing speed, real time 3D charting with Ultra High Definition Radar overlay is a pleasure to demonstrate at boat shows as it is truly the most impressive system available today. More information is available (here).

No time wasted. The 2009 show kicks of with interest in NavNet 3D

East meets West. The West Coast team shares a coffee with the East coast team over a pre-show coffee

Another area of leading technology and product range that has gained a lot of interest is Maretron NMEA200 networking system. This technology is now in the reach of the average boater and quickly gaining popularity as the industry standard for interfacing important information into a simple and reliable data source. More information is available (here).

The Maretron display was very popular
